NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department will hold a Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium open house and Switzer Center dedication on Saturday, May 5, a free event that will feature behind-the-scenes tours and other fun opportunities for fans of all ages.

Tickets are required for admission and they are available free at this link.  They are available in one-hour increments and fans should not attempt to enter before their scheduled time.

The Switzer Center dedication program will begin at 10 a.m. on the building’s south lawn, with a ribbon cutting scheduled for approximately 10:30. At that time, the facilities will open to all fans until 2 p.m.

Areas available to tour will include the OU Football locker room and players’ lounge, head coach Lincoln Riley’s office, the team meeting room, position meeting rooms, weight room, indoor turf training area, practice fields, Legends Lobby and clubs. Sooner Club members will be granted special admission, and will be contacted directly with details.

In addition to the open house at the Switzer Center, fans will be permitted to take photos on Owen Field with the Sooner Schooner (including ponies, Boomer and Sooner). The official Oklahoma Football equipment truck will also be on display.

Providing a behind-the-scenes look at other areas of the stadium that aren’t accessible to fans on game days, the press box and one of the SoonerVision studios will also be part of the self-guided tour.

Food will be available for purchase, and fans in attendance will receive a coupon redeemable for discounted $5 tickets to Oklahoma’s 2 p.m. home baseball game vs. Kansas State. OU softball’s 7 p.m. home game against Oklahoma State is already sold out.

Members of the OU Athletics staff will meet and greet fans at the event, but student-athletes and coaches will not be present. Free parking will be available in campus lots, and fans should enter the stadium via Gate 1 on the west side and Gate 12 on the east side.

The Switzer Center project was part of a $160 million stadium expansion and renovation that was completed last year.

Make your plans now to attend this day full of special access.
